Making a 2017 reservation:

1st step: Checking Availability
Send us an email at vacation@glenhighlandfarm.com with the following information:

  1. 1st and 2nd choice travel dates
  2. Your lodging preferences
  3. Number of dogs you want to bring.

If you have a preference for a quieter time vs. a more social time (for you or your dogs!), let us know as we can help you pick dates that would best suit your preferences. Please note all persons must be age 18 and over, no exceptions.

Be sure to add vacation@glenhighlandfarm to your contacts, so that our email reply to you does not end up in your spam folder!

Email is the best way to reach us. We are a small staff and wear many hats (including running the onsite border collie rescue) so we are not always by the phone! If you prefer to chat, you may call us at 607-263-5416 and leave a message with your name and tel number and a good time to reach you and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!

2nd step: Questions about canine attendees
We strive to keep a safe and relaxing social environment for all people AND all dogs. After finding dates and lodging that suit you, we will send you a dog profile form to complete for each dog you would like to bring.

We allow only one intact male dog allowed at any given time. Female dogs in heat will not be allowed.

3rd step: Booking your Getaway
With dates and lodging selected, and dog info reviewed and approved, we'll send you the total cost, a registration form, payment info, and an information to help you prep for your trip.
On receipt of your registration form and payment deposit, we will email a booking confirmation.

Check-in and Check-out Times

Check-ins are between 2 and 3:00pm. We understand that you might encounter traffic problems or get lost -- please give us a courtesy call if you are running late. Guests that are new to us need to check in on time so that one of the founders of Glen Highland Farm may give you a tour of the property and get you settled in so you can start enjoying your vacation. We cannot accept arrivals after 5pm. If you are late and do not let us know, there will not be anyone to assist you upon your arrival and you must use other local accommodations and check-in the following morning.

Check-out is 11am. We ask that you vacate from your accommodations by 11am so that we may prepare for our next guests. Feel free to enjoy the rest of the property and have lunch before heading out by 1pm at the very latest.

Dog Etiquette

Coming to GHF is a fabulous experience for humans and canines alike, with so much off-leash freedom. Attendance levels vary day by day, so there could be up to 30 dogs on-site mingling together at any one time. As the guardian, we count on YOU to be responsible for your dog(s) behaviors. YOU must manage your dog(s) for their benefit, as well as the benefit of other vacationing dogs and their people. Please be sure you understand our DOGGIE ETIQUETTE. We need the cooperation of all campers to make this a positive experience for everyone!!

  • Dogs cannot bite anyone for any reason. There is no tolerance on this. If your dog nips, grabs or bites, you will most likely be asked to leave. Co-founder, Lillie Goodrich will discuss options for you to stay, if possible, but with specific guidelines that you must follow.
  • Dogs cannot repetitively charge people, on the trails, around any lodging or in the Hound Hub dining area. If your dog is demonstrating any of these behaviors, please intervene and leash them to prevent this defensive situation from becoming a pattern.
  • Dogs cannot harm other dogs. The Getaway is designed for sociable canines who like other dogs so if your dog(s) cannot interact positively, the co-founder will discuss options for you to stay, but you may be asked to leave.
  • Your dog(s) must be managed by you at all times, especially in dining area where conflicts between dogs often arise over food. A dog that charges other dogs, or guards chairs and table areas from other dogs is not allowed.
  • Any camper with multiple dogs must be able to manage them all equally. If one or more of your own dogs is having trouble handling humans or canines, you will be asked to separate them.
  • Anyone with multiple dogs must manage their pack’s dynamics so as not to negatively impact other visiting canines. An existing pack can unfairly overwhelm a solo dog. You must intervene to prevent this from happening.

If you are having trouble understanding/managing your dog’s reaction here please ask us for help. Glen Highland Farm is a popular place for dog lovers. With 175 acres of gorgeous countryside, there is plenty of room for you and your dog to enjoy activities without conflicts. We are happy to help problem solve when issues arise but do expect your cooperation. Please understand we want everyone to enjoy vacationing at GHF and to do so safely.
