FAQ
The Agility Mini-Camp at Glen Highland Farm is a comprehensive training camp which covers a spread of agility skills from the essential basics to the advanced levels of handling.

An agility camp unlike any other

The Agility Mini-Camp is a comprehensive training camp that covers a spread of agility skills from the essential basics to the more advanced levels of handling. Whether your goal is to compete on the national circuit or to expand on your current training, this camp will open your eyes to whole new understanding of agility and dog training. Topics to be covered include handling, start lines stays, contacts, distance work, weaves and problem solving session for common troublesome obstacles. Participants will see the progression of training from the foundation up, and how all skills are interrelated.

Taught by Jessica Ajoux, a national level competitor, judge and author, this camp seeks to share with participants "everything Jessica knows about agility... and then some." Jessica's goal is to give you a clear presentation of how the many pieces of training come together as a cohesive understanding of agility on both the handler and dog's part.

Though the days will be packed with much information and working time, there will be ample opportunity for dogs and handlers to digest everything they have learned while relaxing and enjoying the paradise that is Glen Highland Farm. Dogs can de-stress and cool down by taking a swim in the creek while handlers relax in the countryside atmosphere. This optimal combination of work and relaxation in the most stress-free environment possible will undoubtedly lead to an enriching experience for all participants.

An agility training vacation - in doggie paradise!

Go on vacation with your dog and improve your agility training together. The Mini-Camp is intended to blend a countryside camping vacation with a top notch agility training camp. Set on the scenic 175-acre property of Glen Highland farm in upstate New York, adult campers and their dogs will be able to enjoy the freedom of off-leash trails and doggy swimming, all in the company of liked-minded campers and of course, lots of agility!

Whatever it is, we'll cover it.

Sessions will include lectures, demonstrations and working time. A full outline will be available prior to the start of the camps. All instruction will be held outdoors on grass. Lectures may be held under a covered pavilion or indoors, depending on weather. Equipment is Max200. Water, shade and chairs are available. There are two dog runs available, but campers are encouraged to bring their own crates or ex-pens.

Other Activities

It's not all work all the time!

Take hikes through huge flowering meadows or the Hemlock Forest or stop to relax by the creek and let your dog take a dip. With miles of trails, a pond, various doggie beaches and cozy chairs to sit back in, campers and dogs are in a veritable paradise like setting. Best of all... it's all off-leash!
